    For Classroom Discussion in Teams --
    Complete a plan for a training needs assessment in your organization
    (2 pages)
    • Write down a business or organizational objective
    • Identify a possible training need related to that objective
    • Write your ideas on how you would investigate the need
    • What methods would you use? Why?
    • What methods would you avoid? Why?

    Be prepared to discuss in your plan for a training needs assessment in your teams (2 typed pages). Note: teams will select one needs assessment plan to discuss and present to the whole class.

     

    4th Class

    Oct. 21

    Written Assignment Must Be Typed

    Turn in Design Specifications for a Training Program you plan to develop or buy (2 pages type-written, see brief example, p. 108-109).

    Be sure to include:

    Title: Design Specifications for ____Training Program

    1. Need for the program: explain business reasons for developing a training program; why it's needed
    2. Target audience: characteristics that may affect program design (number, education, attitudes, language, etc.)
    3. Learning objectives: specific skills and knowledge to be acquired as a result of the training
    4. Requirements
    5. Constraints regarding development and instruction (deadlines, budget, length, methods, location, etc.)
    6. Tentative topics or modules to be covered

    Create or bring in a Program Evaluation Form you use in your organization and be prepared to discuss it with others. (Bring enough copies for the class.)
