American Press Institute Workshop
(March, 2000) "Focusing on Priorities: Creating a Mission and Assessing Needs"
Carol McCoy was a key part of our inaugural seminar this year directed toward
newspaper human resource directors and managers. She handled an
afternoon-long workshop on "Focusing on Priorities: Creating a Mission and
Assessing Needs." Carol was one of the highest rated speakers at our
workshop, and we plan to use her skill and expertise in developing future HR
programs.
Some of the comments we heard from participants at the workshop:
- " Excellent presentation. Effective pace and materials. Excellent
training technique. Good application to the job."
- "Very effective, very enthusiastic, wonderful information."
- "Carol was articulate and professional. Her presentation was smooth and
filled with useful and helpful information."
- "She was engaging and her information was useful. My organization is very
accepting of HR and understands the value we add. These strategies could
help others define their role in the organization."
I would highly recommend Carol for work in this area. She's been a good
friend and asset to API. Thanks.
Kindest Regards,
Warren Watson,
Associate Director

The Portland, MAINE Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) held a workshop in March, 1999 and one of our key speakers had to cancel at the last minute. We called Carol P. McCoy, Ph.D. about one week before the workshop and asked her if she could help us out. She graciously accepted. Dr. McCoy spoke on "Your Attitude Makes the Difference" and received rave reviews from everyone attending. Some of the words from our attendees that described Dr. McCoy and her presentation were:
- "Great sense of humor"
- "Very outgoing and personable"
- "Great speaker"
- "Very knowledgeable"
- "Excellent speaker"
- "Energetic"
- "Could listen to her for hours."
Carol was very instrumental in making our workshop a success. Her attitude, knowledge, enthusiasm, and sense of humor make her a very dynamic speaker.

Beauregard Equipment Inc. Thanks for your help in creating the evaluation tools and the job description for our Store Manager. The tools should help us in building our bench strength and keeping our managers on track.
I was impressed with how quickly you learned BEI's culture--it was a completely new environment for you. You were right on about the key issues. After a few weeks, I felt as if you had been working here for years. You kept us all involved, and focused, and you managed to get buy-in for the process from our managers, which wasn't easy. You met all your commitments, and even beat the deadlines. I found the entire process to be very eye-opening.
I expect the work will have positive results, and look forward to continuing working with you in the future. John Beauregard, VP, Marketing and Sales
