Coaching at MTDR involves highly personalized training to assist an individual in achieving particular goals and in building skills and knowledge needed for success. Coaching can improve your effectiveness and satisfaction by helping you to:
- clarify your goals and values
- learn new ways of thinking and approaching difficult situations
- uncover obstacles to success and plan ways to overcome obstacles to achieving your goals
- practice new skills and behaviors in a safe environment
- receive immediate suggestions to improve your effectiveness
How does Coaching work?
The first session normally consists of an intake interview which is
designed to uncover your goals, discuss expectations of how we will work together,
and plan the nature of the coaching sessions and coaching contract.
In between your coaching sessions, you will be given various assignments
such as reading, observing situations, trying out new behaviors,
meeting with people to gain an understanding of your effectiveness, etc.
As part of your coaching, you may want to take advantage of learning your Myers Brigg's Type Indicator (MBTI) in order
to work more effectively with other individuals or groups at work and in your personal life.
The MBTI is a widely recognized assessment instrument which can
help you understand how to prefer to learn new information, plan your schedule,
make decisions, work with others, deal with change, as well as understand the strengths
and potential short-comings of your preferences.
